Pretending the internet isn’t a commerce platform is kinda crazy. In fact it’s mostly just one big advertising mechanism. Even amazon.com (which you might think of as a company that sells stuff) sells ads on its site so that encourage you to buy the same products elsewhere!
So get used to the advertising thing and just look around for what you find that is useful.
